The Blackberry 8900 mesmerises me with its uber-cool looks and state of the art features. To tell you the truth, I was not quite convinced with the idea of going for this handset, when my friend suggested it to me, as I have never been an ardent fan of the Blackberry handsets, despite their suave looks and revolutionary features. But, this phone came as a breeze of fresh air and changed my perception.

The moment I looked at its QWERTY keyboard, I knew that this was it. This was the handset I had been looking for. As expected, this keyboard turned out to be really useful. Add to that the charm of the trackball navigation feature that this gadget boasts of and what you get is a masterpiece. And yes, not to forget its beautiful TFT screen, that melts my heart with its baroque display. For all you technology-geeks out there, the screen measures 2.4 inches in size.

When it comes to storage, I have always been lucky. Let me elaborate it further. I have a big wardrobe in my room that stocks up all my stuff. Similarly, this gizmo provides me with a massive ROM, amounting to 256MB. And that’s not all, as I have the option to increase the memory size up to 16GB. Of course, I would need a microSD card to materialise that.

I am habitual of transferring my favourite songs from the laptop to my mobile phone. Thankfully, this widget provides me with the USB facility that makes this task possible. On top of that, it has on board Bluetooth as well, that allows me to share videos and pictures with my friends. By the way, its superb 3.15 mega pixel camera provides me really clear photographs and as a matter of fact, the videos are equally brilliant.

Gone are the days, when jerk-free connectivity was a distant dream. Now, the Blackberry 8900 is here. This may look like an advertising campaign, but I ain’t kidding. The robust trio of GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi that this handset supports, boosts up connectivity to an unimaginable extent. Paying heed to even the minutest of the requirements, the makers have also incorporated an HTML browser.

Moving on to the utility part, one of the applications that make me go weak in the knees is Blackberry Maps. Being geographically-handicapped, I often find myself lost, especially when I am on my way to some unknown place. At such times, this application acts like an angel for me. Out of the box, I would say!
