The Samsung U600 emphasises functionality despite being a slide phone, which is to say slide phones are really stylish. Most mobile phone reviews would say that this model actually goes right back to the basics, at least in appearance. It has touch-sensitive buttons for navigation, which give a “realistic” feel when pressing, but actually the pad is just a flat surface with vibration response for command recognition. Most critics feel that this feature is not really cool, since it has made the interface a little “weird” or awkward. Nevertheless, the phone’s other features are promising.

The U600 has an upgraded camera with 3.2-megapixels and auto-focus as compared to previous Samsung mobile phones, which had 3.0-megapixels. It is also one of Samsung’s thinnest handsets, at just 10.9mm. This is a quadband phone, which works with most of the networks and has a music player that can play MP3 files. It also comes with a TV-out connector for TV viewing of pictures. It is also a real lightweight, making it feel as if there’s nothing in your pocket or jacket.

Other features include a 262k colour screen, Bluetooth®, EDGE technology connection for faster downloads, an expandable memory card slot that reaches up to 2GB and a document viewer for .doc and .pdf files.

The Samsung U600 definitely represents good value for money, since it is relatively cheaper than most phones and take note, it is also a slide phone, so rest assured, it will never go out of style.
