In terms of weight, there is not much difference between the Blackberry 8520 Curve and Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, as the former weighs 106 grams, while the latter stands at 109 grams. So, it is merely 3 grams you see! However, certain other specifications do vary to a noticeable extent. Nevertheless, both the handsets have carved a niche for themselves in the market.

To begin with, the Blackberry 8520 Curve, which by the way, I own too, is blessed with a 2 mega pixel camera. Though I find the quality that it delivers to be of good standard, many people beg to differ and prefer the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, that comes with a 3.15 mega pixel camera instead. The former makes up for this with its gigantic internal memory, that amounts to 256MB. On the other hand, the aforementioned Nokia handset is embellished with 81MB of storage.

When it comes to connectivity or GPRS, for that matter, there is a huge difference. While the first handset supports Class 10 GPRS, the second one supports Class 32. And yes, while the Blackberry handset is a 2G phone, the Nokia gizmo is a 3G one. Factually, the former supports class 10 EDGE, while the latter is compatible with Class 32 EDGE and on top of that, it supports HSDPA as well.

Talking of the screen size, while the former boasts of a 2.46 inches screen, the latter sports a 3.2 inches one. Moreover, the screen type differs too. While the Blackberry 8520 Curve has a TFT screen, the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music comes with a TFT resistive touchscreen. What I like about the Nokia handset is that its screen can display up to 16 million colours, though I am loyal to my Blackberry gizmo, though its screen has the potential to display up to 65K colours only.

Music being the forte of Xpress music phones, there is a major difference between the Blackberry 8520 Curve and the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, in this context. While both the handsets offer an almost similar music player, the latter has a much better sound output. Moreover, the Nokia phone has a battery that lasts longer than the battery of the Blackberry gadget, so it is obvious that it allows the users to play music for a much longer duration.
